After The Draw

10 km Drawing

Sat 19April 2008

Fleur Kelsey

Fleur Kelsey’s 10km Drawing took place in Dunedin on Sunday 6 April as planned.

The event created a lot of interest and 144 people took up the challenge to take part in the attempt. A large cross section of society enjoyed drawing, and the youngest contributor was 18 months old and the oldest was over 85.

The event took place on the exterior of the old post office and arts society in museum reserve in Dunedin between 8 am and 4.30pm. The event ended slightly earlier than scheduled due too weather difficulties.

As Fleur predicted, participants were unable to exhaust the BIC 10km Mechanical pencil, and the drawing measured approximately 4 ½ km.

Thanks to BIC’s sponsorship many participants were able to take home a free 10km Pencil to stage their own versions of the 10km Drawing, at their own leisurely pace.

Fleur removed the drawing from the building and intends using it to create another artwork which maybe shown in the future.

Due to the success of attempt Fleur will look at staging the 10KM drawing in the future.
